Leach Studio was tasked with designing a transportable exhibition which explains renewable energy principles in a hands-on and fun way. Intended for use as part of the schools’ curriculum for children aged 8 to 14, our design team developed a vibrant colour palette and simple yet effective illustrations to support the stories. Wherever possible, tactile elements encourage visitor involvement and engagement.

Informative graphics were tested for tone and content - it was essential that they carried sufficient information in an accessible way without overly simplifying the information or patronising the visitor. The innovative Energy Changes interactive display secured the exhibition award winning status, using the principle of a rollercoaster to demonstrate the theory of energy transformation.

The exhibition creates a sense of hands-on experimentation whilst inspiring the belief that sparking curiosity and interest can lead to real-world application and real-world benefits.
