Leach were appointed as a turnkey design agency for this bilingual project in Caernarfon, Wales. Promoting the stories of the Princes of Gwynedd, the project encourages visitors to explore other sites within the region.
This bilingual exhibition in the tourist information centre, Oriel Pendeitsh acted as an introduction to the adjacent Caernarfon Castle, adding context of the area for leisure and tourism visitors.
The project linked to Conwy tourist information centre to encourage visitors to go to other sites in the area.
With a modest budget and a long, narrow exhibition space, the Leach design team came up with an innovative solution that suited the space and still allowed the client team flexibility.
Modular units were designed to create a 3D timeline along the length of the mezzanine corridor to hold interpretation and display artefacts. The interpretation linked the timeline to national and worldwide events so that visitors could place local events in to a wider historical context.
Our scope also included external signage and internal wayfinding.
